All the books they were burning..
This is optimal sound for this GD at the Greeks finale.
Very nice from 1/2 Step>Promised to GDTRFB>Miracle.
The entire That's it for the Other One didn't get many plays in it's 85 comeback but it certainly spikes up the usually Bob played part of the song- especially here for this breakout..
i would agree this is a little uneven at times but they played with a moxy in 85 that they really didn't get back until Brent's 88-90 Swan Song.To be fair you had Jerry's diabetic coma summer of 86 and thawing out 'Ensino Man' Aka-Bob Dylan in 87. But i always felt like 1985 was the most wild and over the top I saw of the band in my time from 84-93 on da bus..
Somebody hijacks the PA like 3 times post drums?
Note: Half Step had just come back at Nassau Spring 85 and I do believe Lovelight was re-introduced East Coast late fall 84. "Turn it into a fire!"
Brokedown "to rock my soul"

This final show looks very promising on paper, but a thorough listen shows Jerry strugglin' to get in sync with the band and the band not really helping much either. The first set start off with Midnight hour and Jerry really sounds sour on it. Bertha is better and Jerry gets louder. The rest of the set has moments, thanks to Bob saving the set, listen to LL Rain. The ending pairing of 1/2 Step> Promised Land works quite well.
Set II starts off with a fast tempo Scarlet but it is disjointed the transitions into Fire improves and they play a fair version. Jerry seems to realize this and explodes with a raunchy screaming final solo. Samson is standard fair and then the big surprise Cryptical Envelopment> The Other One> Crypitcal.
They do it a nice justice and pull it off quite well, Jerry voice has deteriorated once again, but it is just wonderful to hear him sing Cryptical. The Other One is full throttle with Phil playing his loudest and best of the set, Jerry playing is raunchy once again. The return to Crypictal is sweet and the tonal textures Brent adds on his organ are quite beautiful.
This show features a really good drums> space and may be the highlight of the set. Mickey on the beam sounds great and when him and Billy go tribal this wonderful sounding matrix really shines.
The post space is tighter than the rest of the show but it sounds more perfunctory than inspired. I am sure it was one long big party this weekend for the boys and it caught up with them alittle.
The Brokedown is the best song they played the entire night.
